I achieved my Art degree at Coventry University gaining a first degree in Illustration. I then went onto completing a teaching qualification through the GTP training course. I have worked in education ever since whilst still working on my own personal art work at home.

I have had the privilege of teaching both primary and secondary school students right from reception through to GCSE and A’ level. I have taught at all types of schools throughout Warwickshire, teaching after school clubs to all ages and have been a full time Art teacher, Subject Leader and Head of Art at Secondary Schools. I have also taught Art to Special Educational Needs Secondary School students again taking them through to GCSE.

I have taught the National Curriculum teaching students the skills they need, however

“I allow students to be independently creative and do not restrict their creative flow.”

I have taught from the basics – colour theory and the formal elements (line, tone, colour, shape, pattern, form, space etc) through to art theory and evaluation and more complex projects. I give students the chance to experiment with a variety of materials and techniques including drawing, painting (all mediums), mixed media and collage, printing, machine embroidery, needle felting, wet felting, ‘grown up’ papier mâché and mosaic.

Please contact me for further information for home schooling, tuition, or extra support during exam preparation.

Art Tuition

I offer art tuition on an individual basis or can teach small groups. If you are home schooling your child I can teach a wide range of skills and techniques which will enhance their creativity. If your child is studying GCSE or A level I can work with them to their specific exam boards specification, giving them guidance and advice on how to improve and also help with their evaluation and written work to enhance their grade.

Having taught for so long in education, and also having a personal, passionate interest in art, I can offer a wide variety of art courses tailored to suit the individual or small group. I keep myself up to date with new trends and products and attend regular art courses. I have recently attended a batik workshop with Rosi Robinson, paper making with Jonathan Korejko, a couple of Soraya French acrylic workshops and several machine embroidery and felting courses. I like to pass on these wonderful experiences to my students.

Please contact me if you have an interest in any of my art courses from acrylic painting and mixed media to needle felting, paper mache or batik. All of my courses and tuition can be tailored to the absolute beginner! So if it is simple drawing skills or understanding colour then this is absolutely fine.

Please see my Courses and Tuition page for more information and prices, or you can send me a message on the contact page.
